DAUGHTERS OF SAMBURU An inner disciplinary piece written by Bates choreography by Bates, Logan, Guoguoa (Ivory Coeat) and Vandever deals with young Samburur girls and one a ritual known as Female Genital Mutilation. This heart wrinching story reaches into the character of five girls and what they might feel while preparing for such a horrific cutlural tradition. Our young dancers were trained at the Urban Arts Consortium of Indianapolis in the Iibada Dance Troupe. | ||||||||||||||||
